“Green Hands”-A green initiative by M/s Kochi Salem Pipeline Private Limited (KSPPL- 50: 50 JV of IOCL and BPCL)

M/s Kochi Salem Pipeline Private Limited (KSPPL- 50: 50 JV of IOCL and BPCL) safely operates 203km of LPG pipeline in the State of Kerala and pipeline laying activities beyond Kerala upto Salem in Tamil Nadu is going on swiftly with IOCL Pipelines division rendering EPMC consultancy services.

KSPPL is one such company involved in most environmental mode of petroleum product transportation wherein 3.35 lakh truck transportation is averted with reduction of 14811 tCO2e carbon footprint. During the Environmental day celebrations , Shri K Narender Babu, CEO, KSPPL launched the “KSPPL Green Hands”—an initiative aimed at encouraging employees to contribute

towards environmental sustainability through small but meaningful actions.

The initiative promotes:

Planting and nurturing trees
Reducing waste and resource consumption
Reducing dependence on non-renewable energy
Reducing carbon emissions
Adopting environmentally responsible practices in daily activities

As a pert of this initiative, KSPPL team distributed tree saplings for school students of St. Marys School ,near to IOCL’s Import terminal at Puthuvypeen, Kochi, Kerala. The importance of planting trees and nurturing them along with protecting our mother nature was explained to school students. This initiative aims at inculcating the value of caring for our nature and instilling the importance of sustainability among young generation. The response from school students, teachers and management had been overwhelming.
