Completion of Kaveri river crossing by HDD method in the Tamil Nadu section project of Kochi Salem LPG Pipeline of Kochi Salem Pipeline Private Limited (KSPPL-JV of IOCL & BPCL)

M/s Kochi Salem Pipeline Private Limited (KSPPL- 50: 50 JV of IOCL and BPCL) safely operates 203km of LPG pipeline in the State of Kerala and pipeline laying activities beyond Kerala upto Salem in Tamil Nadu is progressing with IOCL Pipelines division rendering EPMC consultancy services.

On 17.09.2026, pipe pulling across one of the major river crossing, i.e. Kaveri river spanning over length of 605m was successfully completed by trenchless method Horizontal directional drilling (HDD).

Within a year of commencement of mainline works, the project has achieved 70% physical progress which has been made possible with meticulous planning, relentless efforts and close coordination between the EPMC IOCL and KSPPL team. The project is now progressing swiftly and is envisaged to be completed within the stipulated timelines, amidst the hurdles of strict regulations by highway authorities, extremely congested areas, restricted ROU space, presence of multiple utilities and public protest.
